Marie Snyder

Marie is available to take clients on Tuesday and Wednesday (8:00-5:00).

Struggling with motivation, organization, or communication? Marie hopes to provide a safe place for you to tell your story and feel heard as you work through these barriers together. She brings her background in philosophy to issues around purpose, meaning, and ethics. Her work in large and small businesses, teaching, running a daycare, and raising her own kids can help with challenges in employment, finding work, burnout, time management, and navigating difficult personality clashes. 

Where appropriate, Marie seeks to integrate ideas and practices from Existential Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. Together, these modalities help in meaning making, recognizing limitations, using both/and thinking, developing radical acceptance of what can't be changed, and deeper processing of emotional barriers when things can change, as well as developing a compassionate self-acceptance throughout transitions. Together, she hopes to help find that sweet spot between welcoming who you are and challenging you to be your best self. 

Marie formerly taught high school, with a specific focus on neurodiverse populations (ADHD, ASD, Executive Dysfunction) as well as people struggling with barriers around intellectual and/or physical differences and disabilities. She has had experience with loved ones navigating gender transitioning and the many complicated feelings that can provoke. She is a strong ally and member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. When not working, Marie loves to canoe and bicycle or to curl up to watch a good movie with a cat on her lap. She’s committed to helping you get back on track!
