Fauzia Wafai

Therapist Intern

Fauzia Wafai offers a warm, caring, and respectful space where you can talk openly without the fear of being judged. She believes that you are the expert in your own life and that healing begins when you feel heard, understood, and accepted the way you are.

Fauzia supports individuals experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life changes, questions about identity and meaning, and emotional or spiritual struggles. She also works with people who are facing serious illness, end-of-life concerns, or the loss of someone they love.

Her approach is gentle and collaborative. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, and Emotionally Focused approaches. She also brings a strong understanding of spirituality and faith and can include these areas in your care when they are meaningful to you. While deeply rooted in her Canadian experience, she continues to navigate the complexities of migration and belonging, carrying the sense of living between two worlds, sensitive to culture, family, faith, and the experiences that shape who you are.

Fauzia understands that reaching out for support can feel difficult. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, you can explore what you are feeling, understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Fauzia holds a Master of Arts in Theology – Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University.
