Anna Szot-Sacawa

Therapist Intern

Anna sees clients virtually, by video or phone, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Anna offers a compassionate, warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic space for individuals and families navigating emotional vulnerability, major life transitions, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and complicated grief, including ambiguous loss connected to estrangement. As a complex trauma survivor, immigrant to Canada, single mother, and caregiver to a neurodivergent family member, Anna brings deep lived understanding to her work. Her personal experiences inform a grounded, empathetic approach to supporting clients through trauma, caregiving challenges, crisis, identity shifts, and complex emotional experiences. She has worked closely with individuals navigating trauma, crisis, and mood disorders, supporting people across the lifespan with care, sensitivity, and respect.

Anna’s clinical approach is relational, and client-centered. Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, trauma-informed and evidence-based practices, and humanistic non-directive therapy, she tailors each session to the unique needs of the individual. Her work is rooted in emotional safety, self-compassion, and authentic human connection. Working from a strengths-based perspective, Anna believes in the healing power of story and the importance of feeling truly seen and heard. Through empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, she creates a supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, reconnect with their inner strengths, and move toward healing and greater agency.

Currently completing her Master of Psychospiritual Studies at Knox College, Anna is also open to exploring faith and spirituality within sessions at a client’s request.
