Marietta Drost (she/her)

Marietta trained as a Social Worker (MSW) at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo.  She has engaged work with organizations supporting people with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges through Psychiatric Geriatric Social Work (St. Thomas and London Psychiatric Hospitals), Adult Protective Social Work (Family Services London), Coordination of Programs for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities (Esperanza Community Services, Chicago) and most recently as retired Executive Director and Community Leader at L’Arche London. L’Arche is a not-for-profit organization supporting people with intellectual disabilities and creating community locally through homes and day programs. Â
Marietta brings skills of leadership in non-profit management and community development, and a vital commitment to community wellness, where people thrive as they access the supports and services they need. With her husband Rod, Marietta has been a supporter of Community Counselling London since its inception in 2019. She has deep appreciation for CCL’s fundamental value that all people deserve access to affordable, compassionate and professional mental health services.Â
