Nazish Sawant

Therapist Intern

Nazish is a therapist intern offering counselling services both in-person in Exeter at our Community Counselling Exeter location on Wednesdays and through video sessions, available on Mondays and Fridays. She can provide counselling in English, Urdu and Hindi.


Nazish believes that change is achievable. Everyone has an innate capacity to heal. With self-belief and the right support, you can overcome life’s challenges. Your thoughts and feelings have a significant impact on your reality. Nazish’s goal  is to provide a safe, warm and culturally sensitive place where self-belief can flourish and growth can be witnessed. Nazish views it as an honour to accompany her clients in their personal challenges, assisting them in exploring their feelings and holding the uncertainties of life without judgment. 


Nazish's professional background includes healthcare, education, and chaplaincy. Nazish is a practicing Muslim. She has provided multi-faith spiritual care in hospital settings. Her therapeutic approach is inspired by a variety of modalities including  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She is a graduate of the Masters in Theological Studies Program from Western University. She holds a curious mind and continues to learn new skills and competencies. 


In her spare time, Nazish likes to read history, play board games and spend time with family.
